The JMap Multimedia Extension gives JMap users the possibility to
attach documents to graphical objects on a map. This is particularly
important when professionals need to exchange photographs, sketches,
permits, or other multimedia documents pertaining to an object that they can
visualize on a map: a building, a pond, a segment of road. JMap becomes an
entry point to their multimedia data warehouse.
The JMap Multimedia Extension has the following
characteristics:
-
Documents can be attached to an object or to an object
attribute. When attached to an attribute, the document is accessible from
any object whose attribute is matching the first object's attribute.
-
Documents are listed in information reports about the
object and can be opened directly on screen.
-
Permissions in linking and accessing linked documents
are granted at individual and group level.
